Hanging a pinecone wreath is a wonderful way to add some charm to any room or door. It transitions well from fall to winter and is great for holiday time decor. This wreath will fit well in any style of home whether it’s modern or more traditional. Best of all, you can make it yourself! Customize it any way you like and make it truly your own.
What You Need
14 inch wire wreath
door wreath hanger
natural jute twine
hot glue gun
60-75 pinecones, sorted by size
battery powered LED fairy lights, optional
What To Do
Start out by wrapping the wreath with the twine, which will give you a good surface to adhere the pinecones to.
Start with the largest pine cones and begin gluing them all along the outside circle of the wreath. It’s okay if there’s a bit of room to move around, as you add more pine cones the whole wreath will be tighter.
Try out putting the glue directly on the pine cones and then attaching them and then adding the glue on the jute twine and placing the pine cones on the glue directly to see which works better.
Once the outer circle has been completed, continue with the medium sized cones and fill out the middle circle. You can vary up the size to keep things looking natural. Make sure to place the pine cones snugly and leave minimal open space. Small open spaces are okay, you can add other decor items in between.
Start to add the smallest pine cones around the smallest part of the circle. Once you’re done, you can add any beautiful decor items to make your wreath your own. If you don’t want to add anything, you can leave it as it too, the pine cone wreath on its own is still very beautiful.
